About
ABOUT KHARMON
Some businesses start with a business plan. This one started with a feeling.
The feeling of a long afternoon that has nowhere to be. A glass of something worth savoring. A book you can't put down. A table with room for one more. That feeling is what KHARMON Wine & Garden is being built around — and it's what we want every person who walks through our doors to feel the moment they arrive.
OUR STORY
KHARMON Wine & Garden is an idea that has been growing quietly for years — in tasting rooms across North Carolina, in the margins of wine books, in the belief that Franklin County deserves a gathering place as intentional as the people who live there.
We are building a wine shop, a wine bar, a bookshop, and a garden space in Franklin County, North Carolina. A place where you can pick up a bottle of something local and extraordinary, browse a shelf of carefully chosen titles, sit in the garden with a glass, and stay longer than you planned.
We are not open yet. But we are building — and we believe the slow build is part of the story worth telling.
THE VISION
KHARMON is three things at once:
A celebration of NC wine. North Carolina has over 200 licensed wineries producing some of the most exciting wine in the country. Most people don't know that yet. We're building a space that changes that — one pour at a time.
A bookshop with a glass in hand. We believe fiction and Chenin Blanc belong in the same room. Our curated selection spans novels, food writing, wine education, gardening, and everything in between — chosen with the same care as our wine list.
A community anchor. KHARMON exists to build a longer table. A place where Franklin County comes together — for a Tuesday evening tasting, a Saturday afternoon with a good book, or just a reason to slow down.
THE FOUNDER
Kelsey Harmon spent 13 years building a career in retail leadership — managing teams, running multi-location operations, and learning what it takes to create an experience people want to return to. In April 2026 she left that career to build something of her own.
KHARMON is the result of equal parts professional discipline and personal conviction — a business built on the belief that the most meaningful places are the ones that make you feel genuinely welcome.
Kelsey is currently completing her WSET Level 2 wine certification and is rooted in Franklin County, NC, where KHARMON will eventually call home.
